Ben Affleck Says Jennifer Lopez Allegedly “Eats Whatever She Wants”

Jennifer Lopez possesses many talents, but chief among them — at least, according to her husband, Ben Affleck — is her ability to eat whatever she wants. In an April 21 appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the actor went into more detail about Lopez’s diet, sharing some behind-the-scenes insight that would surprise a lot of people. “Let me tell you something that’s gonna upset you, OK? Jennifer just eats whatever she wants,” Affleck said. “Whatever she wants — pizza, cookies, ice cream.”

Barrymore looked shocked, asking, “Is it the working out?” Lopez does have a notoriously intense exercise regimen, and she’s often spotted in the weight room. “She works out. I mean, I work out, too. But I don’t magically appear to be 20 years old,” Affleck joked, seeming genuinely mystified himself.

Lopez has shared some of her diets in the past, but unfortunately, pizza and cookies did not make the cut back then. In 2013, she talked about her sugar- and salt-free diet, saying she likes to avoid alcohol, cigarettes, and even caffeine. Three years later, her trainer, Tracy Anderson, said she had Lopez “eating very clean” with high-quality proteins and plenty of nutrient-dense foods. Then in 2019, Lopez completed a controversial 10-day no-sugar and no-carbohydrates challenge alongside her ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez, once again putting her discipline to the test.

While these revelations have yet to be confirmed by Lopez herself, Affleck assured Barrymore that J Lo is still very much committed to wellness. (And, frankly, you can be committed to wellness and still eat whatever the heck you want.) “There’s no taking away the work ethic — the work ethic is real, the discipline is very real, but also the superhuman thing is real,” he said. “She’s the most gorgeous woman in the world, she looks spectacular.”
