A glimpse into my training here at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center 💪🏼 #fyp #noexcuses #nolegsnoproblem
With 23 Paralympic medals and 52 World Championship medals under her belt, it’s no surprise that swimmer Jessica Long is incredibly strong. Her strength is what makes her so quick and elegant in the water after all. But her swimming isn’t the only thing that looks effortless. In December, Long posted this TikTok of her climbing a rope from inside the pool, and it’s simply mind-blowing. I mean, it’s hard enough to climb a rope on dry land, much less when soaking wet!
“A glimpse into my training here at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center,” Long wrote in the caption, along with a flexed arm emoji. The video shows her climbing from the middle of the pool all the way to the top of a rope in seconds, while “Whatever it Takes” by Imagine Dragons plays in the background. “I literally can’t even imagine being able to do something like this,” one commenter wrote, and I couldn’t agree more. The amount of arm and core strength a move like this requires is incredible, right? Just watching this video makes me want to do some push-ups.
As the second-most decorated Paralympian in US history, Long knows how to continually challenge herself and take her skills to the next level. This rope climbing video is just another example of the effort and strength it takes to compete as an elite athlete. We can’t wait to see her race again in Tokyo!
